Diego Ramos Story

Diego Ramos started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1999 in Marilia city located in Sao Paulo state Brazil while he was going to college. His first contact with Jiu-Jitsu was with Master Alexandre Oliveira at Academy affiliate under Carlson Gracie, where he trained until he was promoted to brown belt. In 2008, he moved to his hometown and kept his training under the professor Caio Barbante who graduated Diego as a Black Belt in 2009.

Diego has been competing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since beginning as a white belt, and teaching since 2008 as brown belt back in Brazil. After he was promoted to a Black Belt he decided that he needed to expand his career.

In 2010, Diego was invited by his childhood friend and Black Belt, Matheus Andre, to come to the United States to train and compete in California at Gracie Fighter Academy. After this trip Diego decided to move for good to America.

Then in 2012, Diego’s friend and “mats brother” Guybson Sa, invited him to represent his team, SAS TEAM USA. Diego was honored, and continues the legacy of Master Sa, Francisco Sa.

After 4 years of training, coaching and teaching in the United States, Diego is proud to announce his own Academy, SAS TEAM SYRACUSE, opened in February of 2016.
